🏆 June 3rd is Officially Positive Athlete Day in Colorado!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce our 2025-26 Colorado State Award Winners! This year was incredibly special for our team, capped off by an amazing surprise: Colorado Governor Jared Polis officially proclaimed June 3, 2026, as POSITIVE ATHLETE DAY across the state! In his proclamation, Governor Polis highlighted exactly what we believe—that who an athlete is as a person matters just as much as what they accomplish on the field. He recognized that the transferable skills built through sports, like teamwork and accountability, prepare our student-athletes to thrive in whatever path they choose.  

A Record-Breaking Year for Nominations

To all the coaches, athletic directors, and school administrators who took the time to submit nominations: thank you. Your dedication to building character in your programs is what makes this all possible, and this year blew us away.We received more than 920 nominations state-wide.

Nominations came from 292 different public and private high schools. That represents 78% of all high schools with formalized athletics programs in Colorado—the highest participation percentage of any state in the nation! We received nominations representing all 64 Colorado counties.

Our Mountain Region Director, Brady Kellogg, summed it up perfectly:

“Positive Athlete is honored to recognize these student-athletes from across Colorado who have overcome adversity, given back in their schools and communities, or simply done things the right way.”
