Positive Athlete and Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Announce Strategic Alliance to Launch the Allstate Leadership Award

Battle Creek, MI – (August 27, 2025) - Positive Athlete and the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association (MHSFCA) are proud to announce a new strategic alliance to celebrate the leadership, character, and positive influence of student-athletes across Michigan. As part of this collaboration, the organizations will introduce the All State Leadership Award, which will be presented annually to one high school football athlete and one girls’ flag football athlete.

The All State Leadership Award will honor student-athletes who exemplify outstanding leadership both on and off the field, serve as role models within their teams, and make a lasting impact in their schools and communities.

Nominations for the award will open on September 8, 2025, and close on April 15, 2026. Winners will be recognized during the East-West All-Star Game at Lawrence Technological University in June 2026, one of the premier high school football events in Michigan.

“Our alliance with the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association underscores the importance of recognizing athletes for more than their athletic performance,” said Zack Phillips, Regional Director of Positive Athlete. “Through the All State Leadership Award, we’re excited to spotlight young men and women who lead by example and embody the highest values of sportsmanship and character.”

The MHSFCA echoed the significance of this new award. Marc Jarstfer, MHSFCA Awards Chair said, “High school football is about more than wins and losses — it’s about developing leaders who will make a difference in their communities. Partnering with Positive Athlete on the All State Leadership Awards allow us to formally recognize those athletes who inspire others through their leadership and integrity.”
