This is the birthplace of Positive Athlete. Since 2011, the Western PA market of the Positive Athlete program has been in operation, recognizing the Pittsburgh area's most positive athletes and coaches, alongside former Pittsburgh Steeler star and Super Bowl MVP, Hines Ward.

For the tenth consecutive year, Positive Athlete, will be awarding college scholarships to Western PA high school student-athletes based more on their character than their athletic performance. Over $200,000 in college scholarships have been awarded since the Western PA program’s inception. Thank you to our partners who make this program happen year after year!

Two, $1000 college scholarships awarded to a Positive High School male and female athlete who has exemplified courage, determination, and positivity in the face of adversity while overcoming a sport related injury
