Positive Athlete is proud to announce that it will host the 12th Annual Awards at the Georgia State Capitol on June 1, 2026. The prestigious event will be held alongside the support of Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones and will celebrate the state's most exemplary student-athletes while awarding more than $38,000 in scholarships to Georgia students.

The Award Ceremony will be hosted by Positive Athlete Founder/CEO Scott Pederson alongside Pro Football Hall of Famer and Georgia native Champ Bailey. The evening will culminate with the naming of the Positive Athletes of the Year for the State of Georgia, recognizing outstanding high school student-athletes who exemplify excellence in athletics, academics, and character both on and off the field and the inaugural Positivity Cup honoring the Athletic Department of the Year.

"Georgia is home to some of the most talented and inspiring student-athletes in the country, and this event gives us the opportunity to shine a light on those who are making a difference in their communities," said Ryan Pederson, President of Positive Athlete. "We're excited to bring this celebration to the State Capitol and cannot thank Lieutenant Governor Jones enough for hosting us to honor these exceptional young people."

"It is an honor to have Positive Athlete at the State Capitol to celebrate Georgia's outstanding student-athletes," said Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones. "These young men and women represent the best of our state - demonstrating excellence in competition while serving as positive role models in their schools and communities. I'm proud to recognize their achievements and support their continued success."

The 2026 Awards will bring together student-athletes, coaches, families, school administrators, and community leaders from across Georgia for an evening of recognition and inspiration. "The student-athletes we'll recognize on June 1st represent everything Positive Athlete stands for," said Andy Williams, Southeast Region Director. "They've demonstrated that success isn't just measured in wins and losses, but in the positive impact they have on those around them. We can't wait to celebrate their achievements and support their bright futures."

Positive Athlete is committed to recognizing and rewarding student-athletes who demonstrate positive leadership, sportsmanship, and community involvement. Through its programs and partnerships, the organization works to inspire the next generation of leaders and make a lasting impact on communities throughout the nation.
