Detroit, MI – (July 8, 2025) – Positive Athlete, a national scholarship and leadership development program, is proud to announce a new strategic alliance with the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan (BCAM) for the 2025–2026 school year. This collaboration brings together two organizations with a shared mission: to uplift high school student-athletes and advance the game of basketball across Michigan.
With a focus on encouraging student-athletes to recognize their value beyond athletic performance, Positive Athlete aligns closely with BCAM’s commitment to the betterment of basketball throughout the state. Together, the organizations will deliver added value to BCAM members and their varsity boys and girls basketball student-athletes.
As part of the collaboration, the existing BCAM Team First Award will be elevated through the launch of the new Positive Athlete Team First Scholarship, designed to honor basketball players who exemplify character, selflessness, and a team-first mentality.
Nominated athletes will also gain access to leadership and career development resources, exclusive scholarship opportunities from Positive Athlete’s national corporate partners, and eligibility for Positive Athlete’s $2,500 national scholarships.
“This alliance is about more than basketball,” said Positive Athlete CEO, Scott Pederson. “It’s about building leaders, recognizing character, and ensuring student-athletes know their worth on and off the court.”
Both organizations remain deeply committed to supporting high school athletes and enhancing the basketball community in Michigan.
